Blackfish - Ling Bottom Fishing is a Prowler 5 Specialty The Prowler 5 fishes eight months out of the year strictly for bottom fish and has one of the best reputations around the area. Starting in October, Captain Scott personally runs all the bottom trips and is the best at getting on wrecks and catching you Ling, Blackfish, Cod, Sea Bass and Porgies. Scott takes alot of pride in putting out double anchores on all trips with precision. Winter time is Scott's favorite time of the year to run the Prowler 5. He runs this trip for eight months - October through May. Scott has many of the deep water wrecks and spots that lie on the bottom of the ocean in the mudhole. Some of these shipwrecks we casualties of the war, while others were caught in bad storms or collisions at sea. The Prowler 5 is the fastest boat in the area and is not afraid to take the ride. Bait is green crabs, clams and squid.
